BEST FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER 2020 – As voted for by the public.

For years I’ve thought about entering the Essex Mums Awards for the Best Family Photographer award. I always meant to, but I was also so nervous. See, I’m not such a good loser. I’m a sore loser as they say.

However with 2020 being how it is, I said it myself ‘now, what’s the worse that could happen?’, get your big girl pants on.
On they went after getting the nudge from Sarah, one of my long term clients. She had put forward my name so I mean, I had to didn’t I? Thankyou Sarah!

To be entered, I would need to ask for people to vote for me as best family photographer (if they felt I deserved it of course!)

You may be wondering, what goes on in a family portrait session and why should you have one?

I believe Family Portraits are one of the most important images to have on the wall. You walk by it everyday, your children see it and know how proud you are of them to be printed as art in your home. It’s wonderful having portraits of your children up of course, but you must exist in photos. They’re the one thing that lasts forever.

The votes were rolling in for me, but there is never a 100% certainty plus with me being the worrier I am, I was on the edge of my seat. Along came June and Dinky Days was up for Best Family Photographer. All I now needed is for the public to vote and that’s the scary part.

In they came, the comments and messages telling me they had voted for me. It’s overwhelming really, knowing that people had taken their time out to do so. I’m super thankful.

Scrolling through Facebook one evening, I saw I had been notified from Essex Mums.

It happened, I had won best family photographer! the first year I get the guts to go through with it, and I win!

I really cannot tell you all how grateful I am for all the votes. After a crazy 2020 for us all, it’s things like this I want to remember and you made it happen.
