1st Place – Henry.
Newborn and Portrait show 2022.

Wow. That’s how I feel, about winning Newborn Photographer of the year again. Many photographers enter this competition so coming first place is a total honour.
Winning with this portrait was special, it celebrates the beautiful Henrys birthmark. A blonde ‘slice’ of hair on his handsome little newborn head.

Not only did I win 1st place, I also won 2nd place with the image below which includes the lovely Molly and Emily.
As soon as I’d taken the twins image, I knew immediately it was going in for competition. Mum and Nan probably thought I was crazy when I showed my pure joy once the camera clicked. I also love that people see how much I love my job.

Newborn and Portrait show 2022

Your portraits I have been privileged to have been taking for 9 and a half years now. It has been so fun, every single session. The time and energy that goes into every single image is genuinely what I live to do aside being a Mum to my own three sons, speaking of which…

I entered in a portrait of my three boys for the Family category, the image you see below. As a Photographer and their Mum, I feel very proud of this. I constantly push myself to learn more and create even better portraits every single time.

This is undoubtably my favourite studio image I’ve taken of my boys.

3rd Place – Zishan, Idris and Amaan
Family Photographer 2022

Insane pride seeing my beautiful boys up on the big screen, above the stage where I walk to collect my awards.

It’s not only newborns I’m a photographer for, I also photograph Families and Child portraits too, not forgetting cake smashes also.

Many believe because I have so many portraits of my children, that it’s easy. I can assure you now, they are like many children. Having their photograph taken isn’t on the top of their list, but they know the importance when Mum asks them to come into the studio. It costs me though… Usually takeout or a few pounds in their money box. Fair play I say!

Photographers children are usually the children that battle the most to avoid photos, it’s a running joke/truth in the photography community. However when they pose for me, magic happens.

Since having this image judged, I have learnt how to improve it. I’ve brought them back into the studio, posed them almost the same and the difference is huge from just minor changes.
I cannot share the image just yet though. It’s in for judging in another competition and I cannot let it been seen until this is over.

NOT ONLY did I win 1st, 2nd and 3rd in this competition…. I also won THIRD overall photographer of the year. WOW! That was unexpected and so brilliant.

Coming home to Hornchurch, Essex and telling my children I’ve won another award/trophy is the best part, that and also calling my Dad and hearing his pride over the phone. He was/is a photographer and so is into what I do even with me shooting an entirely different genre to him and following in his great footsteps is an honour.

A huge thank you to you all for continuously booking and supporting Dinky Days Photography.

I have my Newborn Photographer of the Year crown back and it fits so good!
